Capiz gets P100M from DOH for prov’l hospital completion

ROXAS City – The Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital got funding from the Department of Health (DOH) for the completion of its five-storey building in Barangay Lanot.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Capiz recently authorized Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DOH Region 6 for the fund.

The MOA was a requirement of the Commission on Audit and Department of Budget and Management to enable DOH to cascade the fund to the provincial government, said Provincial Board member Eleuper Martinez.

The MOA contained the rights and obligations of both DOH and the provincial government in the utilization of the fund.

“Nagapati ako nga sa karon nga panahon sang pandemya, kinahanglan sang mga Capizeño ang hospital nga modern kag may kompleto nga kagamitan,” said Vice Gov. James Magbanua.

The Provincial Board unanimously passed Resolution No. 536- 2021 authored by Martinez authorizing Contreras as representative of the provincial government to sign the MOA.

The Provincial Board earlier passed a resolution seeking financial assistance from Sen. Christopher Go also for the construction of the main building of the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital./PN
