BACOLOD City – For illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions, a resident of Barangay Dian-ay, Escalante City, Negros Occidental was arrested by joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Negros and the Escalante City police station.
Authorities served a search warrant at the residence of 50-year-old Dominador Alontaga Talbo around 11 a.m. on May 4.
The raid led to the recovery of a 12-gauge shotgun and 12 live bullets of the same caliber; one magazine and 10 live bullets of .45-caliber pistol; a .9mm caliber pistol; four magazines and 80 live bullets of .9mm-caliber pistol; an RA rifle 5.56 with serial number DL 028598; seven magazines of an RA rifle 5.56 and 164 live bullets of the same caliber, a police report showed.
The suspect failed to show pertinent documents for the firearms and bullets.
Detained in the lockup cell of the Escalante City police station, he would be charged with violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
