Coop employee shot to death

BACOLOD City – An employee of a sugar central cooperative was shot to death by alleged riding-in-tandem assailants in Hacienda Paraon, Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The 44-year-old resident Amed Conel Castroverde died of multiple gunshot wounds, said Police Lieutenant Colonel Rocky Desear, Cadiz City police chief.

The victim was homebound around 12:20 a.m. on May 19 when attacked, initial investigation revealed.  

He was rushed to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic but the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”

As this was being written, the gunmen remained unidentified.

Recovered from the crime scene were three spent bullet shells and a slug of a .45-caliber pistol./PN
