Bacolod hospital limits admission of COVID patients

BACOLOD City – The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in this city announced it would limit hospital admissions.

The surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections is adversely affecting the hospital’s bed capacity, human resources for health and hospital services, explained Dr. Julius Drilon, medical center chief.

The positivity rate currently ranges from 32.7 to 42.2, according to Drilon.

“The hospital’s dedicated beds for COVID-19 regular patients are nearing full capacity,” he warned.

Six out of seven dedicated Intensive Care Unit beds for COVID-19 patients have already been occupied, he noted.

“Hence, CLMMRH will be limiting its admission to COVID-19 patients when it reaches full capacity in all dedicated COVID-19 beds. Potential patients may consider availing themselves of the services of other hospitals in the province,” Drilon said.

He appealed to the public to observe strict precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19 to “protect colleagues, friends and family.”/PN
