BUENAVISTA, Guimaras – The movement of persons, business hours and transport sector here are being regulated due to rising cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Mayor Eugenio Reyes issued Executive Order No. 033 on Monday spelling out the guidelines.
“This municipality has a total of 34 active (COVID-19) cases from various barangays,” said Reyes, thus “there is a need to rigorously implement preventive measures for the protection and safety of residents.”
Business establishments shall be allowed to open not earlier than 5 a.m. and shall close not later than 6:30 p.m. except for public market which is allowed to open from 4 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The operation of motorboats shall be from sunrise to sunset with up to 50 percent of their authorized passenger capacity.
The operation of public utility jeepneys plying the route of Buenavista Wharf to Mclain shall be from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. only.
Tricycles are allowed to operate from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Having back riders is prohibited.
Single motorcycles used as public conveyances are prohibited.
In all instances, the operator or driver or crew of concerned vehicles shall be responsible to disinfect/sanitize the vehicles.
Residents below 18 years old and senior citizen are prohibited from going out of their houses except for essential travel (limited to accessing basic necessities only).
Physical distancing in all areas shall be strictly imposed
The wearing of facemask and face shield in public is mandatory.
Reyes’ executive order takes effect from May 26 to May 31./PN
