Cebu fugitive falls in Escalante City

BACOLOD City – Police Regional Office 7’s (Central Visayas) No. 10 most wanted person was arrested on May 24 at around 2 p.m. in Sitio Cogon 2, Barangay Alimango, Escalante City, Negros Occidental.

Johnrel Gilbuena, 37, was a native of Barangay Gibitngil, Medellin, Cebu. He was accused of raping a special child twice in April and May 2019.

His arrest warrant for Criminal Case No. B-11484 was issued by Presiding Judge Samson Troy Lavese of the Regional Trail Court, Branch 78 (Bogo City, Cebu) on Sept. 18, 2020.

From Escalante City, Gilbuena was transported to the Medellin police station.

No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty.

The arrest was effected by the combined elements of Medellin police station, Regional Intelligence Unit 7, Provincial Intelligence Unit 7, 605th Maneuver Company, 2nd Maneuver Platoon, and Escalante City police station./PN
