Coronavirus disease death toll in Capiz now at 116

ROXAS City – The number of persons who died of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Capiz province stood at 116 as of Tuesday.

The deaths were 4.59 percent of the 2,472 cumulative COVID-19 cases in Capiz, data from the Provincial Health Office showed.

Also as of May 25, the province’s active coronavirus infections rose to 409 with the recording of 58 additional cases that day.

The recovered cases, meantime, also rose to 1,947.

The active COVID-19 cases in Capiz were in the following areas:

* Panay – 27

* President Roxas – 25

* Pontevedra – 21

* Tapaz – 17

* Jamindan – 16

* Panitan – 15

* Pilar – 14

* Maayon – 13

* Dumalag – 12

* Cuartero – 10

* Ivisan – 9

* Sigma – 7

* Dumarao – 3

* Sapian – 2

* Dao – 1.

People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when a person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales.

These droplets also land on objects and surfaces around the person. Other people then catch COVID-19 by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth./PN
