SAN JOSE, Antique – Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) ex-officio member Julius Cezar Tajanlangit tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“As a public official, I believe that my health should be public knowledge…I tested positive for COVID-19 on May 21,” Tajanlangit announced on Facebook.
The Philippine Councilors League – Antique chapter president shared a timeline of his condition:
* May 12 – attended an official function in Antique
* May 14 – accompanied his wife to Iloilo and stayed in their house there
* May 20 – had dry cough and other flu-like symptoms
* May 21 – sought medical check-up and was advised to undergo a COVID-19 test
“The result came back later in the evening…Contact tracing was right away conducted,” according to Tajanlangit.
He was taken to a private hospital in Iloilo City.
Tajanlangit alerted the Antique Provincial Health Office.
“As of the moment, I am in a stable condition and already recovering in the hospital,” according to Tajanlangit.
He thanked Antiqueños for their prayers.
“Once our re-testing results are out, we will duly inform the public,” stressed TaAjanlangit./PN
