ILOILO – To curb coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) transmission, the municipal government of San Dionisio suspended accepting locally stranded individuals (LSIs) until June 4, 2021.
“The facility quarantine of this municipality is full as of this date (May 25) due to the increase in positive cases in our area,” said Mayor Darwin Bajada.
San Dionisio had 103 confirmed COVID-19 cases – 18 active, 84 recovered and one death, data (as of May 27) of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.
Bajada, meanwhile, clarified that the town is allowing the entry of returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs).
On the other hand, the town of Concepcion also suspended indefinitely the arrival of LSIs, ROFs and overseas Filipino workers, according to Mayor Raul Banias.
The mayor stressed they were just reserving available beds in their Ligtas Kontra COVID-19 Isolation Facility in case of a surge in coronavirus infections.
Banias has asked for cooperation from his constituents. He reminded them to always observe minimum health protocols such as proper wearing of facemasks, frequent washing of hands and social distancing, among others.
As of Thursday, Concepcion had 176 total confirmed cases – 54 active, 121 recovered and one death./PN
