SAN JOSE, Antique – The municipalities of Sebaste and Laua-an in Antique province did not have active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) anymore as of May 28.
According to the Antique Provincial Health Office (APHO), it was on April 14 yet when Sebaste recorded its last infection; Laua-an, on the other hand, reported its most recent case on May 25.
The 16 other towns of Antique have the following number of active COVId-19 cases:

* Sibalom (32)
* Valderrama (22)
* Bugasong (16)
* Hamtic (13)
* San Remigio (13)
* Culasi (12)
* Patnongon (10)
* Tobias Fornier (nine)
* Tibiao (eight)
* Anini-y (seven)
* Belison (five)
* Pandan (five)
* Barbaza (two)
* Caluya (two)
* Libertad (one)
As of May 27, Antique had 221 active cases and 1,107 which recovered.
Its COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, was 67.
Most of the recorded infections in Antique were local transmissions (1,350).
“Sa pagduro kang kaso ka COVID-19 sa probinsya, nagapahadumdom kami sa gihapon, aton nga tandaan kag i-practice ang minimum public health standards. Magsuksok gid kang facemask. Magdistansya sang ka metro ukon masobra pa ilabi na gid sa pampubliko nga lugar, ukon mag-sanitize kag manghugas gid kang alima,” according to the APHO.
As much as possible, it added, people should avoid unnecessary travel and just stay home.
Gov. Rhodora Cadiao was hopeful that COVID-19 infections would drop because the 18 towns were observing “courtesy lockdowns” of two weeks wherein cross-border travels were discouraged./PN
