NTF vax czar endorses Bacolod city mayor’s request

BACOLOD City – A request by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia for increased allocation of COVID-19 vaccines, was endorsed by the vaccine czar of the National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.

The request was addressed to the Chairperson of the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC), Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje.

In a letter, Galvez responded to Leonardia’s request, saying “Kindly accept our deepest appreciation for your continued support during this time of national crisis.”

Galvez assured the city government enough doses will be given to inoculate 100 percent of the adult population, to be delivered in accordance with the relevant existing laws, rules, and regulations.

“It is the goal to vaccinate every Filipino. For this reason, the national government has procured, or secured the supply of enough COVID-19 vaccines to inoculate 100 percent of the adult population. However, we recognize that we are working under the context of the limited global supply of COVID-19 vaccines,” said Galvez.

The vaccine czar also expressed his appreciation for Leoanrdia’s unwavering support in the national government’s fight against the pandemic.

“We laud your dedication in serving your constituents with dedication and showcasing innovation and ingenuity in managing the cases in your jurisdiction and in delivering vital public services.”/PN
