ILOILO City – To “add teeth” to the government’s campaign against the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army (CPP-NPA), the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) in Western Visayas formed the Joint Focused Legal Action Team (JFLAT).
JFLAT will give life to the Anti-Terror Law, said Major Cenon Pancito III, spokesperson of the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (3ID).
“This is another way na hindi sila agad-agad maka-launch ng atrocities. We will get back at them via legal battles, too,” according to Pancito.
On the other hand, 3ID commander, Major General Eric Vinoya, encouraged JFLAT to always be a step ahead of the enemies.
“Let us continue to surprise the CPP-NPA and their allied organizations with our legal efforts. Let us keep them guessing and when we hit them hard with the long arm of the law, let us ensure that they would not even know what struck them,” Vinoya stressed.
