ILOILO City – Ten soldiers of the Philippine Army’s 301st Infantry Birgade (301IBgd) based in Dingle, Iloilo tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
These soldiers have been quarantined, according to Captain Hazel Durotan, Civil Military Operations Officer of the 301IBgd.
Durotan said this was the result of a June 19 swabbing conducted on 112 soldiers assigned at border control points across Iloilo province.
“They were asymptomatic. They will be under quarantine for 14 days. Wala naman problema sa food nila,” Duroton told Panay News.
Durotan reminded the soldiers to take extra care while on field duty.
The brigade sent 10 soldiers to replace the infected. Those who tested negative were sent back to the areas of assignment.
“Hindi hadlang sa ating pagserbisyo sa bayan at sa mamamayan ang COVID-19 kasi we have enough men to replace them. Kahit risky kailangan natin magserbisyo sa ating bayan,” Durotan added./PN
