ILOILO – The province has a steady supply of test kits and personal protective equipment (PPEs), said Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.
The provincial government is continuing its procurement of more test kits for 42 towns and the component city of Passi.
“Right now may ara kita stocks and always sige procurement. Ginapatinguha ta gid sa aton Provincial Health Office nga may steady supplies kita together with PPEs,” Defensor said.
The provincial government has PPEs for all health workers in the 12 district hospitals and the Iloilo Provincial Hospital, according to the governor.
Besides the budget towns have allotted to purchase test kits, the Department of Health (DOH) Region
6 and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) also gave additional supplies to the province.
“The rule is mas maayo gid nga may stock kita pirme,” said Defensor.
As of June 21, the province’s recorded cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) since last year reached 10,756 (2,456 active; 8,033 recovered; 267 dead).
Areas with the high cases included Passi City (932), Oton (913), Pavia (732), Santa Barbara (531), Miag-ao (447), Guimbal (447), San Joaquin (416), Sara (347), Pototan (333), and Calinog (330).
Meanwhile, areas with highest COVID deaths were Pavia (24), Oton (19), Barotac Nuevo (19), Santa Barbara (18), Banate (13), Leganes (12), Pototan (10), Passi City (10), Cabatuan (eight), and San Miguel (eight)./PN
