More city establishments open; liquor ban lifted, too

ILOILO City – To rev up the city’s economy amid a modified enhanced community quarantine, Mayor Jerry Treñas has allowed more business establishments to reopen “provided that minimum health protocols are strictly followed at all times.”

The city mayor is also looking into other economic activities he may soon give the green light to.

“Kinahanglan gid sang aton mga pumoluyo ‘ni. I really need to help them, we have to start recovering,” said Treñas.

The sale and consumption of liquor are also allowed now but from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. only.

The city shall also observe curfew from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Exempted are those working at Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) industries, warehouses and logistics (and similar businesses), ports, arrastre, food manufacturing, storage and preservation, hospitals, media, and other similar business or occupations that require employees to go to work after the curfew hours.

Meanwhile, food preparation establishments such as kiosks, commissaries, restaurants and eateries are subject to the following restrictions:

* take-out and delivery – full capacity

* outdoor dine services (al -fresco) – may be increased up to a maximum seating capacity of 50 percent

* indoor dine-in services at an initial venue or seating capacity of 10 percent

Further, here are the activities and industries allowed with a maximum of 10 percent capacity:

* outdoor sports courts or venues for non-contact sports, scrimmages, games, or activities

* indoor sports courts or venues for non-contact sports, fitness studios, gyms, spas, or other indoor leisure centers of facilities

* other personal care services which may include make-up salons, medical aesthetic clinics, cosmetic or derma clinics, reflexology, aesthetics, wellness and holistic centers and other similar establishments, acupuncture and electrocautery establishments, and massage therapy including sports therapy establishments. It also includes establishments providing tanning services, body piercing, tattooing, and similar services.

STILL PROHIBITED

Entertainment venues with live performers such as karaoke bars, bars, clubs, concert halls, theaters, and cinemas are still prohibited from operating.

The others are:

* recreational venues such as internet cafes, billiard halls, amusement arcades, bowling alleys, and similar venues

* amusement parks or theme parks, fairs/peryas , kid amusement industries such as playground , playroom and kiddie rides

* casinos, horse racing, cockfighting and operation of cockfight

* indoor visitors or tourists attractions, libraries, archives, museums, galleries and cultural shows and exhibits

* outdoor tourist attractions

* venues for face to face meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions/PN
