ILOILO City – The City Social Welfare and Development Office released food assistance to the family of a food delivery driver who died in a vehicular accident on July 1.
This week, financial assistance will also be extended to the wife and three children of 34-year-old delivery rider Zsisley Cesnero of Barangay Boulevard, Molo district.
“Food delivery riders are essential workers this pandemic,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.
Cesnero’s colleagues and other groups also held fundraisers.
Cesnero was supposed to deliver food when he got hit by a Fortuner driven by 35-year-old Keith Estellero of Barangay Tanza Timawa Zone II on General Street here.
Cesnero’s wife Keshia recounted that before her husband left for work that day, he promised to buy ice cream for one of their kids who was celebrating a birthday./PN
