YASSI Pressman got to meet an actual NBA star.
Recently, she shared a photo on Instagram of herself with NBA player Damian Lillard, who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. The actress is currently in Los Angeles (LA).
“It’s about DAM(E) TIME we see each other in person. But seriously though, I want to say thank you to this big guy for spending time today, for helping me out during my reach-out in the PH when the Philippine General Hospital caught fire, and just for being the kindhearted person that he is. You are truly a gem. So down to earth. My most favorite player. Can’t wait to see you again soon! @damianlillard,” the caption said.
On May 16, a fire broke out at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). Patients had to be evacuated and transferred to a different hospital.
During the same month, Yassi visited PGH and made a donation. She described the experience as “heartbreaking,” seeing all of the babies at the neonatal intensive care unit, which is located on the floor directly above where the fire started.
Yassi also called for donations and thanked Damian whom she referred to as her “big brother.” The combined donation from herself and her sister Issa Pressman, along with Damian’s, amounted to more than P1 million.
Damian has been to the Philippines twice: first in 2014 as part of an exhibition game and second in 2016 to promote his signature sneakers. It’s not clear how Yassi and Damian met, but we’re just thankful for generous people like them!(Cosmopolitan)
