Hamtic records 8 new COVID cases

HAMTIC, Antique – This town recorded eight new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) yesterday.

They were from barangays Asluman, Calacja, General Fullon, Gov. Evelio B. Javier, Malandong, Piape, Poblacion 1, and Villavert-Jiminez, said Mayor Julius Pacificador.

“The local government of Hamtic, in coordination with other government agencies, is undertaking contact tracing to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” he added.

How the eight patients got infected remained unclear. But Pacificador reminded his constituents to always observe the health protocols – wear facemask and face shield in public, physical distancing and proper washing of hands.

Just this July 8, the tow recorded four new cases in barangays Caridad, Funda, Poblacion 3, and Villavert-Jimenez.

As of yesterday, Hamtic had 20 active COVID-19 cases, 143 cases that recovered and 15 deaths.
