ILOILO – An estimated P23 billion is needed to fund the programs, projects and activities of the provincial government for 2022.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. recently bared the provincial government’s annual investment plan (AIP).
“This is a wish list…This is not the budget but the basis of the budget,” said Defensor.
The 2022 AIP has five objectives:
* increase investment (Dumangas port and employment opportunities)
* food security
* provide accessible health and social services
* protect and sustainably manage the resources of the province, natural, human resource, and administrative effect
* provide effective efficient and transparent government service
Four services with its budget requirement were spelled out:
* General Public Services Sector – P1,630,995,427
This includes the Executive Services (P735,000,000), Legislative Services / Vice Governor (P77,410,000) and Legislative services (SP members) – P104,290,000, among others.
* Social Services Sector – P7,472,475,019.81
This includes the funding of the 12 district hospitals and the Iloilo Provincial Hospital (IPH).
The IPH has the budget requirement of P345,248,550 while P260,455,000 for the Aleosan District Hospital.
*Economic Services Sector – P11,464,470,478
Under this are the agriculture services – P262,213,328; engineering services – P10,629,614,800; and Trade, Investment and Cooperative Services – P125,887,350, among others.
* Other Services Sector – P2,447,962,943
