ILOILO City – Western Visayas has so far received 1,425,650 doses of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
As of July 23, these were the vaccines:
* Sinovac (CoronaVac) – 755, 960
* AstraZeneca – 343,400
* Pfizer – 31,590
* Gamaleya (Sputnik V) – 4,800
* Janssen – 289,900
Of the provinces and highly urbanized cities in the region, Iloilo province received the biggest allocation with 321,482 doses followed by Negros Occidental with 298,960, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed.
Iloilo City came in third with 264,924 doses followed by Bacolod City (184,040), Capiz (118,708), Aklan (103,652), Antique (93,510), and Guimaras (31,854).
The DOH regional office, meantime, got 8,520 doses.
On the other hand, a total of 562,203 individuals in the region have already been vaccinated with the first dose of anti-COVID jabs, DOH-6 data (as of July 24) showed.
This comprises 10.79 percent of the 5.2 million master-listed individuals under Priority Group A.
Of the figure, 135,683 belonged to A1 (medical health workers); 164,490 under A2 (senior citizens), 198,984 under A3 (adults with comorbidities); 50,000 under A4 (essential economic workers), and 3,083 under A5 (indigent population).
Meanwhile, the number of fully vaccinated individuals in the region has reached 264,173 or 5.07 percent of the master-listed population.
ALMOST 1M COVID TESTS
There were a total of 888,861 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests conducted for coronavirus infection in Western Visayas, July 23 data of the regional health office showed.
Of the number, 84,773 tested positive for COVID-19.
The region has 17 laboratories conducting tests for COVID-19.
Western Visayas also has a positivity rate of 9.5 percent, a bit lower than that of the national at 10.6 percent.
