BACOLOD City – A 71-year-old man walking along the national road in Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental died. A tire from a running truck got detached and slammed into him.
Bernardino Abad was pronounced dead at the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic, police said.
The accident happened around 10:08 a.m. on Aug. 3.
According to investigators, truck driver Reynaldo Derder was traversing northward when the assembly hub with the tire got detached from the axle housing of the truck and rolled towards the victim.
Reportedly, no charges would be filed against Derder as the owner of the truck already extended assistance to Abad’s family./PN
