MANILA – A mixture of experienced and young football players will banner the Dynamic Herb Cebu City Football Club when it makes its debut in the 2021 Philippines Football League (PFL).
Former Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo goalkeeper Nathaniel Villanueva and former Stallion Laguna Football Club standouts Daniel Gadia and Nicolas Ferrer will spearhead the Cebu City-based football club.
Also in the roster were former collegiate players Kintaro Miyagi and Jack Zambrano of the University of the Philippines, Mauro Acot of De La Salle University, and Steven Patalinghug and John Roy Melgo of the University of San Carlos.
Five foreigners will bolster the squad in Jamal Mesbahi from Yemen, Kore Koremaruis of Cote d’Ivoire, Mohamed Soumah of Guinea, Emman Ekundhaiyur of Nigeria, and Ren Okuda of Japan.
Local players like Ilonggo Jaime Rosquillo, Rapi Llorente, Ranulfo Colina, Keenen Cergneux, Lorenzo Genco, Ian Miranda, Michael Pacite, Baris Tasci, Yoji Selman, and Evren Tasci have suited up for the team.
Oliver Colina will be the squad’s head coach, who previously handled the Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo during the 2020 Asian Football Confederation Cup. The 39-year-old Colina will be assisted by Alex Ballesteros, Apol Bariñan, Ref Cuaresma (goalkeeping coach), physical therapist Mark Uy, conditioning coach Carlo Sumayang, and kit man Jimmy Liman.
Dynamic Herb will be the second football club to represent Cebu City in the PFL after the defunct Global Cebu FC.
“After initially signing a few players, our Team Manager Hannah Wong has completed submission of the remaining requirements from the provisional license that PFL has primarily granted,” the team said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We eagerly await updates for the licensing status, and then we will be working on our final roster in the coming days,” it added./PN
