Food establishments, salons OK to operate but…

ILOILO City – Food establishments and beauty salons are allowed to operate while the city is under a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) but on limited venue capacity.

Mayor Jerry Treñas recently issued Executive Order (EO) No. 75A–2021, amending sections 10 and 11 of EO 75-2021 effective Aug. 16 to 31.

Under the amended EO, food preparation establishments such as kiosks, commissaries, restaurants, and eateries are allowed to operate but limited to 10 percent indoor dining venue capacity and/or 50 percent al fresco dining venue capacity while highly encouraging these establishments to comply with the provisions on Safety Seal Certification.

In the previous EO, food preparation establishments’ operation is limited to takeout and delivery only.

Meanwhile, Treñas’ amended EO has now allowed beauty salons, beauty parlors, barber shops, and nail spas to operate at a maximum venue capacity of 30 percent but services rendered shall only be limited to that which can accommodate the wearing of facemasks at all times by patrons and service providers./PN
