DUBBED the biggest pop culture event in Western Visayas, Iloilo Comics Convention (ICCON) once again returns after its huge success on 2012.
Organized by the Iloilo Comic Con Inc., the said event aims to showcase the works and talents of Filipino artists spanning the best of pop culture in the country and the world. The ICCON will be held today until tomorrow at The Promenade of Central Philippine University.
The two-day event serves as a venue for people who share a passion in anime, manga, animation, games, toys, cosplay and movies.
This year’s ICCON includes new activities such as Sketch for a Cause, an ICCON charity event in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross.
The event will be also highlighted with Indie Calle, Arts and Cosplay Contests, Film Showing, and beat box band performances.
New activities will be introduced such as Yu-Gi-Oh!; Magic The Gathering; Photography and Art Exhibits; Computer Rigs; RPG Tournaments and an art seminar workshop to be conducted by top-caliber guests including international artists Carlo Pagulayan, Stephen Segovia, Jimbo Salgado and Manix Abrera, among others.
There will also be arts and photography exhibits, doodle corner, computer gaming tournaments, comic book selling and exhibits, raffle draws and mini contests and animation and comics talk.
More than 1,000 participants coming from different parts of Panay Island, Negros, Cebu and Manila are expected to join the said convention.
