BACOLOD City – A theft suspect was arrested in a police hot pursuit operation at the Agora public market in Barangay 2, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
Twenty-eight-year-old Elmer Cardenas was accused of stealing a cellular phone and cash from a variety store.
Victim Myla Navales told police Cardenas entered the store and carted away a sling bag placed on the table.
The suspect was apprehended around 4:10 p.m. on Aug. 29. Police recovered the sling bag containing the cellular phone worth P35,000 and P1,000 cash.
Cardenas was detained at the La Carlota City police station./PN
