BACOLOD City – This city’s Safety Seal Committee (SSC) has issued Safety Seal certificates to 17 corporate entities here.
The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme provided in the National Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 87 that affirms an establishment’s compliance to the minimum public health standards set by the government to contain coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spread. The entity also uses or integrates its contact tracing with staysafe.ph.
According to Stela Rose Rayos, chairperson of this city’s SSC, 13 entities already received their certificates, while the remaining four are scheduled to receive theirs within the week.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued an Executive Order No. 37, creating the Bacolod SSC for the Safety Seal Certification Program.
Leonardia adopted the Safety Seal Certification Program under Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No.21 series of 2021, to ensure that health and safety protocol are implemented, as part of the “new normal” in the conduct of business and trade in Bacolod, with the goal of protecting the public from COVID-19 and assure the of compliance of establishments with the minimum public health standards set by the national and local authorities.
The seal must be displayed conspicuously at all entrance points of establishments.
Rayos, also the head of the City Permits and Licensing Division, said 163 companies initially applied for Safety Seal.
Only business establishments with valid Mayor’s Permit (2021) are eligible to apply for a certificate of Safety Seal.
Those awarded with Safety Seal shall be allowed an additional 10 percent beyond the prescribed on-site capacity, as per IATF Resolution No. 127-A series of 2021, Rayos said./PN
