Drug suspect abducted an hour before beheading

BACOLOD City – The drug suspect who was shot, stabbed and beheaded in this city on Tuesday night was reportedly abducted first.

The house helper of Glenn Paul Castillo claimed that four unidentified van-riding men arrived at the victim’s house at Deca Homes Subdivision in Barangay Cabug on Tuesday night.

The men allegedly ordered the house helper to pick up Castillo’s nine-month-old child and go inside a room at the victim’s vape shop, said Police Station 1 commander, Police Major Ramel Sarona.

Castillo showed no resistance, according to the house helper, and went with the men.

When the men drove off, the house helper immediately informed one of Castillo’s friends that he had been taken away by unidentified individuals.

About an hour after, Sarona said, Castillo was found headless on Rosario Street, Barangay 38.

Castillo’s head, on the other hand, was recovered some three kilometers away in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.

Castillo and live-in partner Analie Baldevieso Baldevieso were arrested in an anti-drug operation on Aug. 22, although Castillo managed to post bail on Aug. 27.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo-Bacolod, Police Station 9 commander, Police Major Ritchie Gohee, said Baldevieso was still detained in their police station.

According to Gohee, on the night of Castillo’s murder, they did not receive any report about an abduction. However, upon hearing of the incident involving the victim, he immediately ordered his men to visit Castillo’s house, although upon arrival they discovered that nobody was home.

Gohee said they tried to show Castillo’s head to Baldevieso in an attempt to identify his remains, however, she refused to look at it.

Gohee also revealed that around noon on Tuesday, Castillo visited Baldevieso in the station’s jail; he brought her lunch.

At that time, Castillo was described to still have long hair which matched his mug shot on Aug. 22, although Baldevieso told Gohee that the victim stated that he would get a haircut right after the visit.

When police recovered Castillos’ head, it was already sporting short hair.

Police are still continuing their investigation into the incident and looking into retribution as motive.

They are also investigating if Castillo’s death was connected to the murder of Police Staff Sergeant Joseph Nepomuceno who was shot Sunday afternoon, Aug. 28, at the same location where Castillo’s remains were dumped.

Nepomuceno was one of the anti-drug operatives involved in Castillo’s arrest last month./PN
