ROXAS City – The Roxas City Police Office held a “bike run” yesterday to mark the 27th National Crime Prevention Week.
The activity, dubbed “SIKAD Kontra Krimen sa Panahon ng Pandemya”, was participated by around 50 cyclists composed of civilians and police officers.
This year’s National Crime Prevention Week theme was “Komunidad at Pamahalaan Magtulungan: Krimen, Korupsiyon, at Pandemya Labanan”.
City chief of police Lieutenant Colonel Aaron Palomo emphasized the importance of community cooperation in the fight against criminalities especially during this time of pandemic.
In coordination with the city government, the Roxas City police also conducted a gift-giving (food packs); there were 27 beneficiaries (street vendors / indigent families) in Barangay Baybay.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas cited the city police’s marking of the National Crime Prevention Week.
“Ini maka-create sang awareness and at the same time makahatag sang impormasyon sa mga pumoluyo kontra krimen,” said Dadivas who joined the bike run.
Other participants were barangay officials of Baybay led by Punong Barangay Reynaldo Magallanes, Capiz Mini Bikers Club led by its president Christian Louies San Felix, Capiz police director Police Colonel Laudemer Llaneta, and Crime Lab-Capiz headed by Police Colonel Joe Martin Fuentes./PN
