MANILA – F2 Logistics Cargo Movers strengthened its roster in preparation for possible participation in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) later this year with the inclusion of Bacolodnon Jessma Ramos and Rem Cailing.
The Cargo Movers, who missed last month’s Open Conference of the PVL due to injuries, confirmed the signing of the two former University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons standouts on their social media accounts.
“We can’t wait to train and play with you,” the many-time Philippine Superliga champions Cargo Movers said on Ramos and Cailing. “We are sure you’ll grow and, at the same time, have fun with us.”
Ramos, who stands 5-foot-8, will join the Cargo Movers’ formidable frontline, led by Ilonggas Abigail Maraño and Aduke Ogunsanya, Mary Joy Baron, Lourdes Clemente, and Chlodia Cortez.
Prior to joining F2 Logistics, Ramos competed in the 2019 PVL with the Motolite Power Hitters before the squad was disbanded.
She subsequently forfeited her last year of eligibility with UP earlier this year when she signed with Peak Form, a company initially putting up a PVL squad before disbanding.
“Who would’ve thought that this would be the last…#UPFight,” Ramos wrote on her farewell post to the Fighting Maroons on her Instagram account with photos of her final UP stint in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 82.
Just like Ramos, Cailing was supposed to compete for the Peak Form in PVL before she found her way to the Cargo Movers and set to play as backup to Kim Fajardo./PN
