Antique’s No. 1 fugitive arrested

SAN JOSE, Antique – The No. 1 most wanted person in Antique province accused of rape was cornered in SM Bicutan, Parañaque City at around 8 a.m. on Sept. 11.

Ronald Amara was a 24-year-old resident of Barangay Aningalan, San Remigio, Antique.

He disappeared from San Remigio after he was charged with raping a 12-year-old girl in 2014.

Presiding Judge Francisco Guzman of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 12 (San Jose, Antique) issued the arrest warrant (for Criminal Case No. 201-06-8589) on July 20, 2015 yet.

No bail bond was recommended for Amara’s temporary liberty.

After his arrest, Amara was detained at the Southern Police District Special Operations Unit custodial facility. He would be transported back to Antique.

The arrest was made by combined forces of the Antique Police Provincial Office Tracker Team, 1st Antique 1st Mobile Force Company, Maritime Group, and Southern Police District Special Operations Unit./PN
