BACOLOD City – Ten persons engaging in illegal cockfighting (tari/lusok) were arrested in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Police said the suspects included a vendor, watchmen, helper, laborers, farmers, and construction workers.
They were Virgilio Bagahansol, 65; Isidoro Guisihan, 59; Gomer Ewayan, 51; Martin Francia Jr., 61; Dave Biton, 21; Renante Villasola, 44; Wenny Monterona, 62; Marvin Castro, 43; Roberto Piala, 60; and Jonathan Arobo, 29.
Recovered from them at 2:22 p.m. on Sept. 9 were seven game fowls (two live, two wounded, three dead), nine gaffs and P880 bet money, a police report showed.
The suspects were detained at the San Carlos City police station, facing illegal cockfighting charges./PN
