MANILA – Taekwondo jins from the Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym won eight medals, including four gold, during the first two days of the 2021 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation Global Online Taekwondo Championships on Sunday.
Cyd Edryc Esmaña, Julianna Martha Uy, Andria Margaret Palabrica, and Lindsy Lorraine Degayo led the gold medal winners in the recognized Poomsae events.
The silver medalists were Shanen Anica Feranco and Phil Regalado. Sirhc Einreb Damaolao and Viene Marie Dulaca notched bronze medals.
“I always tell my players that to accomplish great things, they must not only act but also dream, not only plan but also believe,” according to Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym head coach Mark Pinggol.
Meanwhile, the Zarraga Taekwondo Dojang earned one bronze medal through Vince Bacas, while colleague Keira Galindo placed 13th in her event.
On Sept. 25 and 26, the virtual tournament, sanctioned by the Philippine Taekwondo Association and organized by MVP Sports Foundation, will resume with Speedkicking events./PN
