BACOLOD City – A 31-year-old pedicab driver was shot dead by unidentified gunmen yesterday afternoon in Purok Boulevard, Barangay 13.
After hearing a gunshot, Lito Barbon was found by his neighbors on the ground, a wound visible on his head.
According to residents, Barbon, a separated man, had been suffering from a mental illness. He had also been jailed for allegedly attempting to stab his own child.
Police Station 1 investigators are yet to identify the suspects and motive in the incident.
Barbon’s killing was the fifth in Bacolod in 30 days following the murder of a police officer; beheading of a drug suspect and shooting of another; and the stabbing of a barangay tanod and his nine-year-old adopted grandson./PN
