BACOLOD City – President Rodrigo Duterte approved the vaccination of the general population against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) beginning October, but the provincial government of Negros Occidental will wait for its medical experts’ advice.
According to Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, the doctors will bear the risk if there is a backlash on what brand of vaccine will be used, especially as minors are included in the general population.
Nonetheless, the provincial government welcomed the President’s latest pronouncement.
Diaz pointed out many parents expressed eagerness to have their children vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Some of them naga-crave na nga mag-socialize with friends and go out. Kung mabakunahan sila the sooner, the better,” Diaz said./PN
