ILOILO City – A police officer was wounded when he tried to pacify two groups squabbling in Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo district.
Police Staff Sergeant Erodino Suarez of the Mandurriao police station, a resident of the village, incurred wounds on the lips.
The incident happened around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday.
According to Suarez, a neighbor asked him for help.
However, when Suarez responded to the area, a certain Angelo Tacuyan, 18, of Barangay Tanza Baybay hurled stones at him.
Tacuyan was detained at the Arevalo police station, facing charges for direct assault, physical injury and alarm and scandal./PN
