ILOILO City – To ensure the safe observance of “Fiesta Minatay,” hundreds of police personnel were deployed to cemeteries in Iloilo city and province.

Personnel of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) will ensure strict public compliance to the minimum health standards against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as well as the “Undas” guidelines of the city and provincial governments.

In this city, barangay watchmen and other force multiplies assist the police, said Police Captain Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO.

“We have personnel at the entrance, then inside cemeteries roaming around and mobile patrol cars,” Sangrines said.

Bringing food inside cemeteries is prohibited. People are also encouraged to make their visit short.

On the other hand, IPPO director, Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero said his police chiefs are also in their areas of assignment.

Cemeteries will be closed from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2./PN
