ANTIQUE – Vehicles weighing over five tons such as dump trucks transporting quarry resources, delivery trucks and 10-wheelers trucks should not use the San Joaquin-Hamtic road, according to the provincial government.
They should instead take the San Joaquin-Anini-y road.
Why?
“To minimize…damage” on the San Joaquin-Hamtic road, stated Executive Order (EO) No. 206 (“An Order Implementing Alert Level System 2 for COVID-19 Response in the Province of Antique”).
Personnel of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office have been tasked to guide drivers starting in Barangay Tiolas, San Joaquin, Iloilo.
So which motor vehicles can use the San Joaquin-Hamtic road?
They included passenger buses and small vehicles, according to EO No. 206.
This rerouting is from Nov. 1 to Nov. 15.
Just this September, the San Joaquin-Hamtic road was also closed to heavy vehicles after cracks appeared on the portions of the road in Barangay Calaja, Hamtic due to incessant rains./PN
