Over 600 Guimarasnons vaxxed in one day

GUIMARAS – Over 600 residents in three towns received their first dose of the vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Nov. 10.

These towns were San Lorenzo (114), Sibunag (233) and Buenavista (270).

The vaccinees were healthcare workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities, uniformed personnel, and the indigent.

On Nov. 9, the vaccination team of the provincial government was in Barangay Maabay, Sibunag and inoculated 503 residents (251 got their first dose and 252 got their second dose).

Gov. Samuel Gumarin ordered mobile COVID-19 vaccinations in barangays to speed up herd immunity by Dec. 15, 2021.

The target is 3,378 residents for vaccination daily.

As of Oct. 21, 31,313 Guimarasnon were deemed fully vaccinated (two doses) against COVID-19.
