ILOILO – Ilonggos are still required to wear face shields, especially in crowded places and while accessing public transportation, according to Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.
Before ditching the eye coverings, Defensor said he wanted to clarify with the Department of Health if the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can enter through the eyes.
“If the answer is yes, makabulig ‘na sia sa aton sa high risk areas ukon sa public transportation,” said Defensor.
The governor said he won’t recommend the removal of face shields unless the DOH assures it will be safe.
On the other hand, the province will observe a curfew from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Exempted from the curfew are authorized persons from outside residence which include:
* medical professionals, healthcare providers, those providing medical support services or responding to emergencies, and those returning home from such performance of duties.
* government officials and employees in the performance of their official duties and functions and those returning home from such performance of duties and functions.
As of Nov. 13, the province had 34,654 coronavirus cases – 843 active, 32,781 recovered and 1,030 died./PN
