SIT: Facial composites of 2 ‘persons of interest’ up

ILOILO – Police may now be looking at two more “persons of interest” in the killing of businesswoman Claire Diergos.

The special investigation team (SIT) said it has the facial composites of two persons seen taking photos of Diergos’ Montero Sport abandoned in Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara town on Oct. 26.

“These will aid our investigation,” said Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

He said the facial composites would not be released to the public. The SIT has yet to identify the faces.

facial composite, commonly known as cartographic sketch, is a graphical representation of one or more eyewitnesses’ memories of a face, as recorded by a composite artist.

Gorero refused to disclose how many “persons of interest” the SIT has.

Presently, Gorero said evidence-gathering is ongoing.

He also deemed the case “unique.”

“It was well-planned. They made Barangay Inangayan appear as the primary crime scene. They knew what to do to hide the incident,” Gorero told Panay News.

He also admitted it took them “days” to conclude that Diergos was killed inside her house at Deca Homes Subdivision in Pavia town.

On Oct. 26, Diergos was found inside the car with fatal stab wounds on her neck and a comforter was wrapped around her. It was later confirmed it was hers.

According to Police Major Raymund Celoso, Santa Barbara police chief, a closed-circuit television footage from the subdivision showed Diergos’ vehicle exiting around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 25.

The police has yet to recognize the driver of the vehicle./PN
