BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will intensify its implementation of City Ordinance 338 or the truck ban following the easing of this city’s coronavirus disease 2019 alert level.
Police Major Ruel Culanag, head of BTAO, said the truck ban is from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, only along the Circumferential Road.
The truck ban aims to decongest the road, particularly during rush hours and curb road accidents, said Culanag.
Meantime, trucks carrying essential goods like medicines and foods are exempted.
Violators will be issued citation tickets and can face a fine of up to P3,000.
Truck drivers are also prohibited from parking along the Circumferential Road.
Bacolod is under Alert Level 2 until the end of the month./PN
