ANTIQUE – As of Nov. 16, 113,444 Antiqueños – or 26 percent of the 432,452 target population – were deemed fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
On the other hand, 153,255 more Antiqueños (36 percent) were waiting for their second vaccine doses to be deemed fully vaccinated, too.
Five towns were leading the vaccination. These were the following:
* San Jose – 23,749 out of 46,463 target population
* Pandan -11,667 out of 25,510 target population
* Tobias Fornier – 9,037 out of 24,557 target population
* Sibalom – 7,643 out of 44,809 target population
* Culasi – 7,143 out of 30,374 target population
Provincial Health Officer I, Dr. Leoncio Abiera credited vaccination for the decline in COVID-19 cases in Antique.
“Comparing the number of the vaccinated sa mga nagligad, in the past seven days, we have 18,000 nga nabakunahan,” said Abiera.
As of Nov. 20, Antique’s active COVID-19 cases were down to 53.
District hospital admissions due to COViD-19 also were also slowing down, said Abiera. Last week, only eight cases were hospitalized.
