The general manager of Park Inn hotel in Bacolod City has expressed optimism as the national and local governments continue to slowly lift the travel restrictions as COVID-19 cases in the country continue to go down.

In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon as part of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s formal opening, Park Inn Bacolod General Manager Sherwin Lucas, said at present the hotel has an average booking occupancy of around 35 to 36 percent.

A majority of their bookings are mostly done during the weekends, and previously the guests that are staying in the hotel are either locals who are having “staycations” or authorized persons outside of residence.

However, following the lifting of travel restrictions between late October and this month, they are already seeing a hike in the number of bookings as tourist traffic from Iloilo, Cebu and Metro Manila continue to increase

“It has been steadily climbing,” Lucas said.

Lucas also expects more bookings for the month of December as they are expecting that a lot of families may hold reunions after a year of not being able to come home for the holidays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think it’s going up now, and we expect this December to get a bit busy,” he said.

As for bookings related to conferences and seminars, Lucas said they have also seen an increase in essential government-related meetings that cannot be deferred.

Despite the increase, Lucas pointed out they are strictly implementing the health guidelines as mandated by the National Inter-Agency Task Force.

He even revealed that they hosted an event last week, and the hotel was also able to cater to the needs of the event’s participants.

Last Tuesday, Park Inn by Radisson also conducted the opening of the hotel’s Art Cove exhibit featuring the works of Negrense artists Christina Bautista, and Joan Honoridez.

An unveiling of “The Tale of the Marapara” mural marker was also conducted at the hotel’s second floor, Marapara Pool Deck.

The mural of “The Tale of the Marapara” is currently known as the biggest art mural in the city.

The formal opening was concluded with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to mark the beginning of this year’s holiday celebrations.

The Park Inn Hotel by Radisson Bacolod opened its doors to the public on July 8th of this year.

The hotel is located at the SM City Bacolod and is approximately 30 minutes away from the Bacolod-Silay Airport, 10 minutes away from the city’s Northbound and Southbound Bus terminals, and three minutes away from the BREDCO Port.

The hotel has a total of 150 rooms and suites ranging from Superior, Deluxe, and Junior Suite.

The hotel has a Pool Deck on the second floor which is open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a Fitness Center which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

They also have a total of four dining places comprising of a restaurant, cafes, and a bar./PN
