Bacolod-Iloilo fast craft fare up

BACOLOD City – The standard fare for fast craft plying the Bacolod-Iloilo route increased to as much as P50 yesterday, just as operators increased the number of trips.

In a radio interview, Weesam Express operator Frank Carbon said since they resumed operations two weeks ago, they could not break even due to the high fuel cost and the limited number of passengers.

The price of fuel rose to P48, Carbon said.

As for the number of passengers, Carbon said, currently they could accommodate 100 to 150 due to physical distancing restrictions

The fare rate of Weesam Express for a first-class passenger is P500 one-way, and P1,000 for round trip.

For students and senior citizens, meanwhile, the fare is at P415, while for minors aged four to 11 is at P285.

Students are required to present their school identification cards while minors their birth certificate.

The regular tourist rate, meanwhile, is P425 one-way, and P850 round trip.

Students and citizen-tourist tickets are at P355, while minors at P250.

Economy and non-airconditioned regular fare is P400 one-way and P800 round trip, with student and senior citizen fare is P355, and minors is P235./PN
