
ILOILO – Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. expressed contentment on the first day of the national vaccination drive or “Bayanihan Bakunahan” against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to Defensor, the vaccination areas have been properly set up, and many volunteers assisted in the 43 local government units (LGUs).
The provincial government also augmented vaccination teams, said Defensor who received a Sinovac booster shot at the West Visayas State University (WVSU) Cultural Center yesterday.
The capitol earlier hired 1,092 vaccinators composed of doctors, nurses and nursing attendants.
“Ang tanan nga partners naton from the national government to the non-government organizations (and the) private sector… nagbuloligay para lang malab-ot ang target naton,” he added.
The province targets to inoculate 338,716 individuals from 42 towns and one component city during the three-day “Bakunahan Bayanihan.”
“Ginhimu ‘ni naton indi tungod nga may target kita or obligado kita. Ini para safe ang aton nga pamilya because under COVID-19 Alert Level 2, bukas na kita. Gintugtan na naton ang mga establishments kag ang gatherings,” Defensor said .
“Indi kita magpili sang bakuna kay pareho na sila tanan nga maayo,” he added.
