Expanded pilot F2F classes begin today

BACOLOD City – The expanded nationwide pilot face-to-face (F2F) classes in select elementary and secondary schools begin today.

Schools in Negros Occidental and this city selected for the expanded pilot program were the following:

*   Hiyang Hiyang Elementary School in Cadiz City

*   Mabini Elementary School in Escalante City

*   Raymundo T. Tongson National High School in Himamaylan City

*   Valladolid National High School in the town of Valladolid

*   Aguntilang Elementary School in the town of Isabela

*   Colinia Divina Integrated School in Sagay City

*   Don Carlos Ledesma National High School in San Carlos City

*   Patag Diotay Elementary School in Silay City

*   Mauboy Elementary School in Sipalay City

*   Victorias National High School in Victorias City.

*   Alangilan National High School in Barangay Alangilan (Bacolod)

Also approved were the Malinao School for Philippine Craftsmen in Malinao and Banga Elementary School in Banga (both in Aklan), Antique National School in (San Jose, Antique), Mulapula National High School (Passi City, Iloilo), Olotayan Integrated School (Roxas City, Capiz), and Paaralan ng Buhay na Talas (Talas Elementary School) in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

According to the Department of Education (DepEd), the schools passed various “safety assessments” by the Department of Health (DOH).

It also clarified that only select students would be allowed to participate in the pilot program.

A total of 177 schools were chosen by DepEd for the pilot F2F classes nationwide in addition to the 118 other schools which have already begun last month.

According to DepEd, the assessment period for the pilot F2F classes will be until Dec. 22, 2021. The pilot study is set to end on Jan. 31, 2022.

The results of the pilot run will then be presented to President Rodrigo Duterte in February 2022.
