BACOLOD City – For alleged illegal cockfighting, 15 persons were arrested in separate operations in Negros Occidental on Sunday.
Police recovered several live game fowls, gaffs and P560 bet money.
In Calatrava town, police caught seven suspects in Barangay Mianapasuk around 11:40 p.m.: Demetrio Torres, 80; Benjamin Parsumala, 70; Cris Cate, 67; Hermogenes Magtanum, 64; Ladislao Sipalay, 62; Reynante Cornel, 44 and Jimmy Delfan, 36.
In Barangay Himoga-an, Sagay City, Rogelio Estimar, Igmedio Magbanua and Yunito Diaz were arrested around 2:20 p.m.
Meanwhile, Guillermo Alibutdan, Mario Be-uy, Jose Be-uy, Junrey Ondrada, and Regie Palmes were caught in Victorias City around 3 p.m.
The suspects would be charged with violation of the Cockfighting Law./PN
