ILOILO City – More policemen would be keeping eyes on this city’s popular leisure spots like the Iloilo River Esplanade and the SmallVille Complex in Mandurriao district.
A 15-year-old boy was wounded in a stabbing in Esplanade 2 last week.
According to Police Colonel Leo Batiles, director of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), duty hours of his men would be extended until 4 a.m.
Batiles said personnel from the motorcycle unit and ICPO mobile force would augment the personnel of the Mandurriao police station.
On the other hand, suspect Justin Taday, 20, of Barangay Airport, Mandurriao district was detained at the Molo police station. He would be charged with frustrated homicide.
Taday’s 15-year-old friend would also be facing charges. Witnesses accused him of hitting the victim.
Minors must observe curfew, said Batiles.
“Our personnel will arrest those in the area during curfew hours. This aims to prevent crimes,” he added./PN
