AKLAN – A seven-year-old Grade 1 girl was stabbed by her neighbor, a 14-year-old boy, in Barangay Cawayan, New Washington town on Dec. 16 at around 8 a.m.
“Kapit-bahay kami, palagi siya dito sa amin. Naglalaro kasama ang tatlong anak ko. Minsan dito rin siya kumakain,” the victim’s father Jayson said in an interview of RMN DyKR Kalibo, referring to the suspect.
The girl, though bleeding, was still able to run home and sought her family’s help. She was taken to the Aklan provincial hospital in Kalibo, Aklan where she died the next day at around 4 a.m.
The suspect was arrested by the police in Barangay Ochando, New Washington.
The girl had bruises on her neck, too, as well as marks on her eyes.
Recovered in a wooded area were the girl’s underwear and shorts.
