HELLO Santa,
I am writing with a short list of presents, not for me but for the world. Nobody else, especially our politicians, seems to be able to organize them.
1. That people have access to safe, free COVD-19 vaccinations and the wisdom to take them.
2. That people, not just one young girl, work to stop Climate Change now, not in 30 years’ time.
3. That people accept and appreciate that all people come in a variety of difference ways.
4. That people can get what they need rather than what they want.
Okay, maybe a little bit of chocolate for me.
That should be a good start and I’ll return with more of the list next year and yes I have been a good boy.
I’m Dennis and I’m 62 years old.

No cold feelings for Santa
I realized that the World Meteorological Organization reported that the Arctic temperature had reached 38° and I thought that 38° Fahrenheit would be a nice warm day for Santa and his team, but I realized with horror that it was 38° Celsius (Verkhoyansk, June 20, 2020). Surely no one could now deny that climate change is real.
Climate deniers emphasize that extreme temperatures and other weather effects do occur, and yes, but one out of every century shouldn’t turn into regular events.
The long-term average temperature has risen almost 1° C over the last century and the 10 warmest years on record have occurred since 2005, maybe it’s just a coincidence, but I think it’s time to panic.
From a personal point of view, I wonder what will happen to all those polar bears and if Santa will need to install air conditioning for the elves.
Perhaps Santa provides the inspiration and leadership that the world’s politicians do not provide.
Santa, all I want for Christmas is a COVID-free year./PN
